A star is born. Not Lady Gaga, but the googolplex of planets and stars stretching beautifully across time and space. Join us to explore the wonder and mystery of the Universe and how it can be understood using the tools of scientific inquiry. 

Dr. Christopher Johns-Krull is your guide for "The Birth of Stars and Planets," a free public class from the Modern Astronomy course in Rice University's Graduate Liberal Studies program. Seating is limited and RSVP is required.

Christopher Johns-Krull, Ph.D., is a professor in the Department of Physics and Astronomy, Rice University. His research focuses on observational studies of star and planet formation, with a particular emphasis on the search for extra-solar planets orbiting very young stars.
