Raymorris Barnes
Chardenay Davis is an 8th grade English teacher and department chair at Baylor College of Medicine Academy at James D. Ryan. This is her 7th year in education. On campus, she fulfills a number of roles including mentor teacher, National Junior Honor Society sponsor, student events and graduation coordinator, and SDMC committee member. She earned her Bachelor’s Degree in English and Secondary Education from Spelman College and an MAT in Secondary Education from Rice University. Chardenay currently serves as an Advisory Board member for Rice’s Teacher Education Program.
Felicia Mensah was born and raised in Bronx, New York. She received her Bachelor of Science in Education from University of Vermont and her M.A.T at Rice University. Felicia spent five years in the classroom before becoming a teacher specialist. She currently writes curriculum for the Houston Independent School District and supports multiple campuses with best instructional practices.
Dr. Miguel A. Ramos is Associate Vice Chancellor for Curriculum & Instructional Initiatives in the Houston Community College System. Prior to joining HCC, Miguel served several roles at the University of Houston including Director of Institutional Effectiveness, Assessment, and Accreditation and Interim Associate Provost for Institutional Research. He has taught graduate courses in program evaluation, research design, and survey methods in the College of Education at UH and taught high school world history in HISD. Dr. Ramos earned a Bachelor’s Degree in History/Sociology from Rice University and an MA and Ph.D. in Educational Research, Measurement, and Evaluation from Boston College. Miguel is a graduate of the Teacher Education Program at Rice and currently serves as a member of the Advisory Board.
Mayra Suarez graduated from Rice University in 2010 with a BA in Hispanic Studies and completed the teacher certification program. I was a Spanish teacher at Pershing Middle School for three years before pursuing a Master's in Counseling from UH Clear Lake. I've been a counselor at the middle school and high school level in HISD and CFISD. I'm currently at Cypress Park High School serving as the Dual Credit counselor.
